Lisbon's yellow trams are more than just a way to get from A to B. They are part of the Lisbon experience. The city's three funiculars are also an unmissable part of Lisbon’s charm. There are also highly modern trams and trains plus a rapidly expanding underground system and good punctual buses, which run into the night. It is probably best to stick to public transport, as complicated rules (one can almost never turn left) and some fairly hair-raising driving make cars or bicycles a potentially stressful option. The best way to see Lisbon's sights is by Tram 28, which has stops all over the historic part of Lisbon.
