Lisbon is a one-stop city for shopping and is bursting at the seams with mega sized shopping centres known simply as a Centros Comerciais. If you are a serious shopper then your first port of call should be the Colombo (metro stop: Colégio Militar), which boasts some 400-plus shops including C&A, Zara and Area. Then try the quality Spanish department store El Corte Inglés (metro stop São Sebastião) which stocks everything from books, fashion to household appliances. The Vasco da Gama shopping centre, at the Parque das Nações, is a futuristic shopping complex on various levels built into a glass and steel structure designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. All of these shopping centres are open from 10:00 to 24:00.
